Cairn O’ Mount Ruin 2012-03-25b » by G Davidson
I don’t think this was taken long after I went by here the last time. Ruins have this unshakeable hold over me, that I cannot escape. Without me having any say in it at all, the little F1-cars that are my thoughts begin racing around in my head and it’s all I can do to respond if anyone should try to speak with me.
Who lived here? What did it look like? Why did people live here, since when, and what was it like? Did they see the beauty, or did they see even more than I do? Was there more of a garden then, and more than one or two houses?
And sometimes, it is as if I can almost touch the whispers of those who were here, see what they saw and, like mist, walk through the memories and images of the then.

I needed some nature so I bring you this. Lochs, forests, mountains, sea. How could I not love Scotland? It inspires me even when I am far away. I can smell the special smell that is Scotland’s own, just as every other country and place has its own. I can see the sky if I close my eyes, and hear the birds and the whisper of the wind. Or roar.
I may detest many things about the modern world, but I love travelling, and I am so grateful that it is possible to get to Scotland within hours (the number of said hours, of course, may vary quite a lot) wherever I am. Or to Japan. Or wherever I am going.

May I draw your attention, dear viewers, to this excellent example of a beauty with a generous dollop of hotness thrown in? White, ribbed tank top over no bra. And the nipples maddeningly near-visible under it, why, that evokes all kinds of nice thoughts. I am also partial to the hair, which is wavy and red and unevenly coloured in a highly desirable way. And then there’s the ever-enchanting eyebrows.
I look at pictures and see… well, I’m fairly sure I am reasonably uninterested in pure porn, and probably a lot of erotica, too, or this’d just be another reblog-blog of such things. So I generally pick those picture that makes me think - think up a story, a surrounding, a context (brrr, I used the c-word! I’m sorry, fellow archaeologists… well… no, not really) or just generally sparks my imagination somehow. Of course, some are just incredibly beautiful, or drop dead gorgeous, but, regardless - I have found that I am rather picky. And I was thinking, should I split this tumblr? One for things that are very much not safe for work, and another for all those other things? But then I realised, no. This blog is about what I dream about, what makes me dream, and what I find beauty in.
And this fine photo is a prime example of that.
Now, if only there was a way of climbing into that bed, if this lovely sunlit being would have me…

Asta Nielsen in Jugend und Tollheit, 1913
Jesta Müller dresses as a young man in order to be close to a lieutenant she admires. He is supposed to marry another, but only to save his family from financial ruin. Jesta follows him, and finds herself caught in a series of increasingly tricky situations: she has to share a bed with him, shave, listen to men’s jokes, and almost go swimming with him. Ultimately, however, she becomes his wife.
Oh, YES, may I be given the opportunity of watching this movie? And look how stunningly dapper she is! I do wish I could find this movie to watch somewhere…

Stop degrading the act of sex by calling it ‘opening your legs.’
I’m so sick of women being degraded all the time. Because women just, you know, lay back and ‘spread their legs’ and let men do whatever they want. They don’t take any active role in the actual sex act or enjoy it. They are just objects that lay there with their legs open. Then they are stupid because through poor judgement or mishap, they became pregnant. The man is never blamed or shamed or degraded for having sex. There are no phrases used to degrade the act of a man participating in a sexual act, at least not a heterosexual one.
I swear if I could punch people in the face for saying ‘they shouldn’t have spread their legs’ I would. I don’t even care if they are someone in my family or my friends. That is how fucking pissed I get when people say hateful shit like that about women.
No issue is black and white. Women have abortions for many reasons. Shit happens. The fetus ends up being deformed and would not live; the woman just ended a previously stable relationship; the woman or couple has children already and cannot afford any more at the moment; The couple may have used birth control but it failed; the woman just found out she has a serious illness and will not be able to carry a pregnancy to term; the woman was raped, etc.
So fuck you and your hatred of women. Negativity about sex is disgusting and harmful.

Max Raabe is absolutely great at what he does - his voice is really nice, and his humour on stage, most often delivered utterly deadpan, is hilarious, whether in German or in English. I heartily recommend you to take a bit of a look on some of his live performances, recorded or, if you’re lucky, on stage.
Also, his sense of dress seems to be impeccable.

Just like I said a few weeks ago with the owl picture, I tend to make this exact pose when in a library… Besides, it’s a cat. Cats are awesome. I should make a photomanipulation with the owl and this cat together.
And it has the perfect expression of “WTF MATE” that I so very often find apt for situations, news and people’s actions in general.
